This full-day tour pairs Stellenbosch with the Franschhoek Wine Tram. It is a small-group outing with pickup and drop-off at your Cape Town hotel.
The morning starts with a short look around Stellenbosch, followed by a chocolate and wine pairing at historic Lanzerac. From there you cross the Helshoogte Pass to Tokara for views back towards Table Mountain. After lunch and time to explore Franschhoek, your guide hands over your tram tickets, and you ride on to estates such as Rickety Bridge (reached by tractor from the tram stop) and Franschhoek Cellar.
On the drive home you pass the prison where Nelson Mandela spent the last part of his incarceration. Wine tasting fees (unless you choose the tasting option) and lunch are paid on the day. Plan on nine to ten hours.
