This policy explains what personal information Wine Tours Cape Town (“we”, “us”) collects through https://www.winetourscapetown.co.za (the “site”), how we use it and your rights. We aim to comply with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Wine Tours Cape Town is an independent online guide to wine tours and wine estates in the Cape Winelands. Contact: info@winetourscapetown.co.za.
Information we collect
- Enquiries. If you contact us by email or through our enquiry form, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, email address, travel dates, group size and message. We use them only to reply to you.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider’s servers automatically log technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and how people find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you visit. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site. Affiliate links and booking partners
Some links on the site are affiliate links to our booking partners, including Viator and GetYourGuide. If you click one and make a booking, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. When you follow these links, the partner may use cookies or similar technology to record that you came from our site. Your booking, payment and any personal details you enter are handled by the partner under its own privacy policy, not ours:
Cookies
Our site uses a small number of cookies that WordPress needs to work, for example if you leave a comment, plus Google Analytics cookies as described above. Our booking partners may set their own cookies when you visit their sites or use an embedded widget from them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Embedded content and third-party services
- Maps. Our maps use map tiles from OpenStreetMap. To show a map, your browser requests the tiles from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which receive your IP address. See the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.
- Partner widgets. Some pages may show tour widgets from GetYourGuide, which load from GetYourGuide’s servers.
- Email. Messages sent from the site are delivered through our email service provider.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry emails and form submissions only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and then delete them. Typically 12 months.
Sharing your information
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site, such as hosting and email, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use. Email info@winetourscapetown.co.za. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
