A walking tour with a story, through three of Constantia’s best-known estates. You meet at the starting point and spend about five hours on foot, following vineyard paths and private trails between Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia and Buitenverwachting.
The guide tells the tale of the winemakers who shaped the valley over more than three centuries, when Constantia wine was prized at royal courts across Europe. Along the way you taste ten wines in all, including Klein Constantia’s celebrated Vin de Constance. The day ends with a harvest-platter lunch of meats, cheeses and preserves (vegetarian options are available).
There is a fair amount of walking, so a moderate level of fitness is needed. Note that this tour meets at a set point rather than offering hotel pickup.
